Well, this week was the first of those pesky but inevitable speed bumps.
No matter how many helium balloons I tied around my waist today, I was still up nearly two pounds.
I didn’t diverge from the eating habits that I’ve pledged to follow this year, but there were two meals this week where I did miscalculate.
– RIBS: one great thing about a low-carb diet is the abundance of meat you’re free to eat. On Thursday night, I went primal on some fantastic ribs but didn’t think to account for the carbs in the sauce. And they were saucy ribs.
– ALCOHOL: My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful “gift-card” meal at Bonefish Grill on Friday night. My meal was very reasonable, but we split a bottle of wine, and I had a good pint of Sweetwater 420 Pale Ale, as well. A glass of wine a day is no problem, but beer is a killer, with 20-grams of carbs in that pint alone.
So, for this week, no ribs and no alcohol. Should give me a boost this time next week!
Meantime, we picked up another $200 in pledged donations. Thanks again for all who have generously pledged to support this cause.
BE SURE TO CHECK BACK ON WEDNESDAY WHEN I ANNOUNCE AN EXCITING LENTEN TWIST FOR TS2012!

Too bad for the speed bump but those do come. Also BBQ is very bad for the carbs in the sugar. Next week maybe you’ll lose for 2 weeks if you are very tight with you program.
