Falcone's Crossroads

Where This Meets That

Tuesday Tunage – Sade

“Tuesday Tunage” is a weekly spotlight for music I deem worthy of a spotlight. To make it worth all of our time, I’ll do my best to emphasize tunes you probably haven’t heard before that represent the art in all its glorious varieties.

It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since Sade’s first hit  “Smooth Operator”.  Her 1992 album Love Deluxe was her first collection that really grabbed me, with its soulful vocals, elegant arrangements, and deep rhythms.  She’s only put out one new album per decade since, but her latest release, 2010’s Soldier of Love, proves the lady’s still got the goods.

As spring finally bathes us in a little of its trademark warmth, I spotlight a couple beautiful tracks from Soldier of Love to help you bask in it.  I could listen to this lady’s voice all day.  I hope you enjoy!
