Where This Meets That
Wow, they grow so fast! It’s hard to believe that three years ago today, Falcone’s Crossroads flopped out wet and screaming into a room full of blue hairnets and latex-gloved hands!
In my experiences with parenting, three years would mean that this blog is about to develop some serious attitude! But for now, let’s take a look at the past year.
By the Numbers
310 total posts (compared to 239 from the previous year!)
Over 21,000 views (compared to over 14,000 from the previous year!)
Biggest day was November 28 with 271 views (compared to 792 on a freakishly surprising day the previous year!)
186 new subscribers (compared to 67 added the previous year!)
Let Me just Say . . .
It thrills me that Falcone’s Crossroads continues to grow in readership, three years in! That can’t happen, well, without readers, so I thank you all for checking out this little “crossroads” of cyberspace and thank you even more for sticking around!
What’s in Store for Year 4?
This past year, I placed a lot of emphasis on volume, adding regular weekly features, like “The Monday Jump!”, “Tuesday Tunage”, etc.. My goal, frankly, was to beef up the volume of content and continue to grow traffic while still being able to work on more substantive posts in the background.
Trouble is, it became a bit of a salad bar for me. You know, a little romaine, a little spinach, some tomatoes, carrots, and cucumbers, and then . . . oh yes, how could I forget the real bacon bits?! Sorry, the point being that you only wanted a little salad before your meal, and now you can’t even finish it!
Such was the lesson of year three for me. Unfortunately, against my true responsibilities of family and career, my reach for volume here just became unsustainable.
That’s a long way of saying, look for less content here at Falcone’s Crossroads in the coming year but, at the same time, perhaps better content. So check in whenever you can!
Meantime, here’s a look back at the top five posts from FC year 3:
