Tuesday Tunage – Spring Music?

“Tuesday Tunage” is a weekly spotlight for music I deem worthy of a spotlight. To make it worth all of our time, I’ll do my best to emphasize tunes you probably haven’t heard before that represent the art in all its glorious varieties.

Ahhh, spring.  Our azaleas are reaching full bloom, and the cherry trees around Atlanta have been absolutely stunning!

This week, I’d love to hear some of your recommendations for spring tunage.  What are some songs and artists that you love listening to this time of year?  Add a comment!

I’ll kick it off.

Several years ago, I discovered a band from Chicago called The Sea and Cake.  Their music succeeds in merging intricate arrangements and shifting time signatures into music that sounds fresh and light as a spring breeze.  I got to see them perform in a little dive bar a few years back and met their guitarist and vocalist Sam Prekop as he loaded up his gear afterward.  In so many words, I thanked him for sharing his talent and told him that their music helps to give a little “spring” to my spring, to which he was very gracious.  Cool guy, which always helps bolster the admiration.

Here is a lovely song called “Everyday” from their 2000 album Oui.  I hope you enjoy!

What are some tunes that add “spring” to your spring?  Add a Comment below!
