Falcone's Crossroads

Where This Meets That

Tuesday Tunage – John Hiatt

“Tuesday Tunage” is a weekly spotlight for music I deem worthy of a spotlight. To make it worth all of our time, I’ll do my best to emphasize tunes you probably haven’t heard before that represent the art in all its glorious varieties.

Despite all his accolades, John Hiatt has always remained a background fixture of the bluesy singer-songwriter scene. He’s never much caught on with me, personally, but driving home one day last spring, I had one of “those” moments with his song “Go Down Swingin'”.  The world, bursting abloom, just clicked right along with Hiatt’s triumphant, no-nonsense procession and instantly fixed the song in my regular rotation.  Just a great song, and, with spring on the cusp, one I wanted to share.

Hope you enjoy!
