Falcone's Crossroads

Where This Meets That

Tuesday Tunage – James Hunter

“Tuesday Tunage” is a weekly spotlight for music I deem worthy of a spotlight. To make it worth all of our time, I’ll do my best to emphasize tunes you probably haven’t heard before that represent the art in all its glorious varieties.

James Hunter was only born in 1962, but his music recalls the soulful sounds of greats like Sam Cooke and Van Morrison.  Van Morrison himself certainly digs it, calling Hunter “one of the best voices, and best kept secrets, in British R’n’B and Soul.”

This week’s track, “Way Down Inside”, comes from Hunter’s 1996 debut …Believe what I Say and demonstrates a little of Hunter’s R&B range. Enjoy!
