Falcone's Crossroads

Where This Meets That

Tuesday Tunage – Georges Bizet

“Tuesday Tunage” is a weekly spotlight for music I deem worthy of a spotlight. To make it worth all of our time, I’ll do my best to emphasize tunes you probably haven’t heard before that represent the art in all its glorious varieties.

Okay, today is a “proud papa” edition of Tuesday Tunage.

We attended my son Aidan’s eighth grade orchestra’s holiday concert last week, and here is one of the standouts from that performance, Georges Bizet‘s “Farandole from ‘L Arlesienne Suite No.2′”. I had never heard this composition before, and I loved it!  I’m just amazed at what my son’s instructors have been able to do with a group of middle schoolers!

Sorry for the quality here; but I recorded it on my iPhone, so it is what it is.  Nevertheless, my son one of eight on the upright bass, so if you listen really close, I’m sure you can hear him. 😉
