Falcone's Crossroads

Where This Meets That

Tuesday Tunage: Halloween Edition

“Tuesday Tunage” is a weekly spotlight for music I deem worthy of a spotlight. To make it worth all of our time, I’ll do my best to emphasize tunes you probably haven’t heard before that represent the art in all its glorious varieties.

In honor of Halloween, I’m going a little dark with this week’s spotlight (you could call it a “blacklight”). I’ve always thought of Nick Cave as equal parts Jim Morrison and Count Dracula. He’s about as literary and intelligent of a lyricist as there is in the business, but he could use a walk in the warm afternoon sunshine. Here, he dishes up a rumination on a mysterious “tall handsome man with a red right hand”, backed by a fun, spooky groove that could’ve come straight from Herman Munster’s LP collection.
