Falcone's Crossroads

Where This Meets That

Falcone’s Friday Five: Christmas Songs

HO! HO! HO!  When celebrating traditions around Christmas, we can’t forget the soundtrack!  The contemporary Christmas music can’t hold an Advent candle to the old classics.

Old Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Perry Como and company are rooted in my Christmas spirit like a gloriously lit Christmas tree, so what better subject for today’s Friday Five!  Here are a few of my favorites. What are yours?

1. The Most Wonderful Time of the Year – Andy Williams  What a joyous tribute and reminder!

2. A Holly Jolly Christmas – Burl Ives  How can you not have a holly jolly Christmas with this song playing?

3. O Holy Night – Nat King Cole  Pure majesty!  Cole’s voice is pure silk.

4. Silent Night – Nat King Cole   Perhaps my favorite Christmas song, and Cole, of course, delivers.

5. The Littlest Angel – Bing Crosby  Bing tells this tale beautifully. A different twist on the “The Little Drummer Boy” theme.

Very nice. I too love the older Christmas Carrols. Few newer one hit the mark.
